Medisch Secretaresse
The complete medical-administrative qualification: medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, medical correspondence and ethics, plus practical psychology for patient contact.
About this programme
Medisch Secretaresse (medical secretary) is the third and final step of the modular medical-administrative route and its highest level (MBO 4+). It builds on step 1 (medical administrative assistant) and step 2 (outpatient clinic assistant) and completes the route with six examined modules: medical secretarial practice, medical terminology, medical foundations, practical psychology, medical ethics and medical correspondence. You learn to run a medical office independently: managing records and appointment schedules, producing accurate medical letters and reports, using specialist terminology with confidence, and handling patient data carefully and discreetly. No specific prior education is required, but you must demonstrate competence in computer skills, numeracy and Dutch (through a test or an MBO 3/4 diploma).
